Edmonton and St. Albert Open Houses
On Tuesday December 20, 2011 and Tuesday January 9, 2012, Brent held open houses in his Edmonton and St. Albert offices respectively.
Canada Day 2011
Brent celebrated Canada Day in St. Albert with residents at Lions Park; and with Edmonton residents in Castle Downs Park.
Capital Ex 2011 Parade
Brent took part in the Capital Ex Parade on Thursday July 21, 2011 to mark the beginning of this year's Capital Ex Festival
Remembrance Day 2011
On Friday, November 11, 2011 Mr. Rathgeber participated in the Calder community's Remembrance Day program and laid a wreath on behalf of the Government of Canada.
2011 Healthy Business Challenge Slo-Pitch weekend
On June 4 & 5, 2011, "Brent's Backbenchers" participated in the St. Albert Chamber of Commerce Healthy Business Challenge Slo-Pitch Tournament for the second year. The Backbenchers had a weekend of fun, sun and sportsmanship.
2011 Rainmaker Rodeo Parade
At the end of May, Brent was part of the Rainmaker Rodeo Parade to mark the opening of St. Albert's 2011 Rainmaker Rodeo Festival. Brent's car was driven and provided by Jim Gallmeyer of Hi Temp Products.
Official Opening of the St. Albert Founder's Walk
Creating Hope Society funding announcement
On November 9, 2011, Mr. Rathgeber announced funding for two projects being undertaken by the Creating Hope Society.
The "Sharing Responsibility: Stop Family Violence" program will focus on violence issues impacting Aboriginal women and their families. The "Moccasins in Motion" program will focus on urban Aboriginal youth ages 12-15.
Family Day events, February 21, 2011
On Family Day 2011, Brent had the pleasure of spending time at the festivities held by the Heritage Lakes Community Association, before joining the 150th Anniversary Committee in Lacombe Park. There he took part in their snowflake festivities and announced Federal funding provided to the group through the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program.
Edmonton Christmas Open House 2010
Tuesday December 21, Brent hosted a Christmas Open House in his Edmonton Office.
2011 Citizenship Ceremony
On January 19, 2011, Brent had the pleasure of attending a Citizenship Ceremony held at the Edmonton Islamic Academy where approximately 200 new Canadians received their citizenship.
St. Albert Curling Club Reopening
On January 11, 2011 Brent attending the Grand Opening of the newly renovated St. Albert Curling Club. The Federal portion of the renovation funds were allocated by the RInC program.
Tim Hortons' Camp Day June 1, 2011
On June 1, 2011, Brent helped serve coffee at the Tim Hortons on Hebert in St. Albert in for Camp Day. During Camp Day, every penny from coffee sales is donated to the Tim Hortons' Children's Foundation.
Jam Can Curling 2010
On Tuesday December 21, 2010, Brent took part in the Jam Can Curling event in St. Albert. Held on the Sturgeon River, Mark Kennedy attended as St. Albert threw "rocks" to promote the Continental Cup, hosted in St. Albert this year.

Read-In Week 2010
In addition to reading with the Prime Minister at Kensington School, Brent read to students a Glengarry Elementary School and at Rosslyn Junior High School.
2011 Pottery with the St. Albert Potter's Guild
Brent spends a another saturday morning with St. Albert Potter's Guild learning the ins and outs of the art of pottery. Brent created a piece that will be auctioned off to support the Art Gallery of St. Albert exhibitions and educational programs.
Oct 8 Kensington School with Prime Minister 2010
On Friday October 8, Prime Minister Stephen Harper attended Read-In week with Brent at Kensington School and read to Kensington's Grade 2 class.
St. Albert Snowflake Festival Light-up 2010
On December 3, 2010 Brent joined the St. Albert Chamber of Commerce for the St. Albert Snowflake Festival Light-up on Perron Street.

On December 17, 2010 Brent visited Kensington Elementary School to present them with a framed, signed copy of the photo from Prime Minister Harper's visit with the children during Read-In Week.

Celebrity Cupcake Challenge 2010
Alberta 55 plus Winter Games Board of Directors is hosted a community fundraising event on October 2 to raise awareness of the Games being held in St. Albert February 24-27. Brent participated by decorating 48 cupcakes, 6 of which were judged.
Roundtable with Arabic Community 2010
On April 10, Brent had a chance to discuss key issues with members of the Arabic community at his outreach roundtable.
St. Albert Chamber Slo-Pitch Tournament June 5 & 6 2010
On June 5 & 6, 2010, "Brent's Backbenchers" participated in the St. Albert Chamber of Commerce Health Business Challenge Slo-Pitch Tournament. The Backbenchers had a weekend of fun, sun and sportsmanship and took home the Silver in 'B Division'.

Military Experience at CFB Wainwright Sept 7-10/10
In September, I had the great opportunity to spend 3 days embedded with 22 Regiment Battle Group (Vandoos) as they prepare to be deployed to Afghanistan. CFB Wainwright is the training centre for all Afghan destined platoons for 6 weeks before they are shipped to Kandahar. The Vandoos Battle Group will be shipping out to the real theatre in Afghanistan in early November, I have tremendous respect for the brave men and women of the Canadian Forces.

On June 6, 2009 Mr. Rathgeber laid a wreath on behalf of the Federal Government in honour of the 65th Anniversary of D-Day at the Cairn of the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion (Airborne Monument) in Siffleur Falls, Alberta.

Nechi Health Announcement 2009
Brent announced, on behalf of Canada's Minister of Health, the Honourable Leona Aglukkaq, just over $371,000 in funding to the Aboriginal Tobacco Cessation Project.
The Aboriginal Tobacco Cessation project's objective is to train individuals in at least 46 communities across Alberta, at seven strategically located training posts. The modified models have all been evaluated by the Aboriginal Tobacco Advisory Circle, and have been deemed relevant for the Aboriginal population in Alberta.
S.A.I.F Society's Red Shoe Gala 2008
In October of 2008, Brent attended the St. Albert S.A.I.F Society's Red Shoe Gala to support bringing an end to violence against women. While at this event he participated in the "Walk a mile in her shoes" fundraiser.
HMCS Halifax August 2009
From August 4-7, 2009, I was given the honour of sailing with the crew of Her Majesty's Canadian Ship HALIFAX. I was permitted to have a glimpse of what it is like to live and work in a Canadian Warship and participate in HMCS HALIFAX's sea evolutions.
Olympic Torch
On Friday October 30, Brent participate in a mock relay with students from Leo Nickerson Elementary School in St. Albert, to celebrate the beginning of the Olympic Torch Relay.
Youth for Change Somali Community 2010
On January 29, 2010, Brent attended that Somali Community's "Youth for Change" event. This event was a forum which brought together the community, police and government representatives to address the crime and gang-related issues within the community and to discuss ways to engage Somalian youth in Canadian society and the community.
Jan 13, 2010 The Olympic Flame comes to St. Albert
St. Albert's celebration of the Olympic Torch Relay which ran through St. Albert and on to Edmonton on January 13, 2010. Mr. Rathgeber participated in the events by hosting a free community BBQ with hot dogs and hot chocolate for relay spectators.
Holyrood RInC Announcement 2010
On May 20, 2010 Brent Rathgeber, Member of Parliament for Edmonton - St. Albert, on behalf of the Honourable Lynne Yelich, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification, announced federal funding for the Holyrood Community League.
The Holyrood Community League will receive funding for Green Space Upgrades.
Opening of Hudson Spray Park June 19 2010
On June 19th 2010 Brent had attended the official opening of the Cumberland/Oxford Community League's Hudson Spray Park which received $207,824 in Federal funding through the Recreational Infrastructure Canada Fund (RInC)

Edmonton's Capital Ex Parade July 16 2009
CPA Wheelchair event May 12, 2010
Brent spent the day in a wheelchair as part of a Chair-Leader event on Parliament Hill organized by the Canadian Paraplegic Association (CPA). Along with approximately 25 other Members of Parliament, Brent used a wheelchair for one day as he went about his daily routines and experienced some of the barriers faced by persons with mobility disabilities in accessing various parts of Parliament. The event launched Spinal Cord Injury and CPA Awareness Month.
Centralta Tourism Society 2010
On June 11 and June 30 Mr. Rathgeber announced funding for the Centralta Tourism Society under the Development of Official Languages and Enhancement of Official Languages Programs. These grants will be used to further the profile of the Francophone community and French Language Heritage in St. Albert and surrounding areas

Brent participated in the 2010 St. Albert Terry Fox Run on September 19, 2010 running 10km for Cancer Research.
St Albert Track and Field Foundation 2009
September 17, 2009 Brent and Mayor Crouse announce Federal and Provincial funding to the St. Albert Track and Field Foundation for various upgrades to the Fowler Track. Federal Funding was provided through the RInC (Recreational Infrastructure Canada) Program
Canada Day 2010
On Canada Day 2010, Brent spent the morning in St. Albert, handing out ice cream and flags in Lions Park. In the afternoon, he attending the grand opening of the new park in Castledowns celebrating the birth of Canada with more ice cream.

St. Albert Farmers Market 2010 Pick of the Crop
On June 19th Brent handed out free sno-cones to Market goers on the first day of the Annual St. Albert Farmer's Market in downtown St. Albert.
December 2010 Arden Theatre Funding Announcement
On December 17, 2010 Brent announced $245,881 in funding for renovations and upgrades to St. Albert's Arden Theatre. Federal funding for this investment is being provided under the Canada Cultural Spaces Fund.
