Canada Day 2010 On Canada Day 2010, Brent spent the morning in St. Albert, handing out ice cream and flags in Lions Park. In the afternoon, he attending the grand opening of the new park in Castledowns celebrating the birth of Canada with more ice cream.
 

Centralta Tourism Society On June 11 and June 30 Mr. Rathgeber announced funding for the Centralta Tourism Society under the Development of Official Languages and Enhancement of Official Languages Programs. These grants will be used to further the profile of the Francophone community and French Language Heritage in St. Albert and surrounding areas
 

St. Albert Farmers Market 2010 Pick of the Crop On June 19th Brent handed out free sno-cones to Market goers on the first day of the Annual St. Albert Farmer's Market in downtown St. Albert.
 

Opening of Hudson Spray Park June 19 2010 On June 19th 2010 Brent had attended the official opening of the Cumberland/Oxford Community League's Hudson Spray Park which received $207,824 in Federal funding through the Recreational Infrastructure Canada Fund (RInC)
 

St. Albert Chamber Slo-Pitch Tournament June 5 & 6 On June 5 & 6, 2010, "Brent's Backbenchers" participated in the St. Albert Chamber of Commerce Health Business Challenge Slo-Pitch Tournament. The Backbenchers had a weekend of fun, sun and sportsmanship and took home the Silver in 'B Division'.
 

CPA Wheelchair event May 12, 2010 Brent spent the day in a wheelchair as part of a Chair-Leader event on Parliament Hill organized by the Canadian Paraplegic Association (CPA). Along with approximately 25 other Members of Parliament, Brent used a wheelchair for one day as he went about his daily routines and experienced some of the barriers faced by persons with mobility disabilities in accessing various parts of Parliament. The event launched Spinal Cord Injury and CPA Awareness Month.

Jan 13, 2010 The Olympic Flame comes to St. Albert St. Albert's celebration of the Olympic Torch Relay which ran through St. Albert and on to Edmonton on January 13, 2010. Mr. Rathgeber participated in the events by hosting a free community BBQ with hot dogs and hot chocolate for relay spectators.
 

Youth for Change Somali Community On January 29, 2010, Brent attended that Somali Community's "Youth for Change" event. This event was a forum which brought together the community, police and government representatives to address the crime and gang-related issues within the community and to discuss ways to engage Somalian youth in Canadian society and the community.
 

 

Roundtable with Arabic Community On April 10, Brent had a chance to discuss key issues with members of the Arabic community at his outreach roundtable.
 

Riel Recreational Park Grand Opening On the Morning of Saturday May 9, 2009 M.P Brent Rathgeber attends the Grand Opening of the Riel Recreation Park Phase One. This project was funded by CAMRIF a joint project between the Federal Government and Municipalities.
 

HMCS Halifax From August 4-7 I was given the honour of sailing with the crew of Her Majesty's Canadian Ship HALIFAX. I was permitted to have a glimpse of what it is like to live and work in a Canadian Warship and participate in HMCS HALIFAX's sea evolutions.
 

St Albert Track and Field Foundation September 17, 2009 Brent and Mayor Crouse announce Federal and Provincial funding to the St. Albert Track and Field Foundation for various upgrades to the Fowler Track. Federal Funding was provided through the RInC (Recreational Infrastructure Canada) Program
 

Holyrood RInC Announcement On May 20, 2010 Brent Rathgeber, Member of Parliament for Edmonton - St. Albert, on behalf of the Honourable Lynne Yelich, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification, announced federal funding for the Holyrood Community League.

The Holyrood Community League will receive funding for Green Space Upgrades.

Air Cadet Tree Planting on Canada Day Air Cadet Squadron 533 planted a tree in the N.W corner of Lions Park in St. Albert to commemorate the Centennial of Flight
 

Nechi Health Announcement Brent announced, on behalf of Canada's Minister of Health, the Honourable Leona Aglukkaq, just over $371,000 in funding to the Aboriginal Tobacco Cessation Project.
The Aboriginal Tobacco Cessation project's objective is to train individuals in at least 46 communities across Alberta, at seven strategically located training posts. The modified models have all been evaluated by the Aboriginal Tobacco Advisory Circle, and have been deemed relevant for the Aboriginal population in Alberta.
 

Olympic Torch On Friday October 30, Brent participate in a mock relay with students from Leo Nickerson Elementary School in St. Albert, to celebrate the beginning of the Olympic Torch Relay.

S.A.I.F Society's Red Shoe Gala In October of 2008, Brent attended the St. Albert S.A.I.F Society's Red Shoe Gala to support bringing an end to violence against women. While at this event he participated in the "Walk a mile in her shoes" fundraiser.

Remembrance Day 2009 On Wednesday, November 11, 2009 Mr. Rathgeber participated in the Calder community's Remembrance Day program and laid a wreath on behalf of the Government of Canada.

Siffleur Falls D-Day Memorial On June 6, 2009 Mr. Rathgeber laid a wreath on behalf of the Federal Government in honour of the 65th Anniversary of D-Day at the Cairn of the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion (Airborne Monument) in Siffleur Falls, Alberta.
